Series of answers to the most common questions about Timber Prague apartment buildings - part 2nd

What about the environmental friendliness and sustainability of timber buildings?

Timber Praha houses in the most energy-efficient category A and with BREEAM Excellent ecological certification have a number of ecological features such as heat pumps, photovoltaic panels, geothermal boreholes and Smart Home system.

In terms of ecology, timber buildings are much more environmentally friendly than buildings made of concrete or steel. The biggest benefit of wood houses is the reduction of CO2 emissions. Trees capture carbon dioxide from the atmosphere during their growth and the wood used as a building material then retains carbon for a long time. One cubic metre stores up to one tonne. Wood processing also produces a minimal carbon footprint. Compared to traditional solid construction, timber construction has CO2 emissions that are up to around 75 % lower.
