Modern timber buildings meet strict fire regulations and standards. Although wood is a flammable material, its fire resistance is equal to concrete or brick. Moreover, it fulfils a static function even during a fire, whereas steel, for example, quickly loses its load-bearing capacity and stability.
At our Timber Praha we use innovative solid CLT panels (Cross Laminated Timber), which have excellent fire resistance. Proof of the very good fire resistance of timber buildings is the fact that many timber high-rise buildings with many floors are now being built in developed countries in Europe and around the world too.
